Walking the 100mm Macro

This past Saturday, I needed a break from sitting in front of the computer editing images.  I was getting burned out!  Besides, the light coming in from the window just messes with my monitor.  It was time to walk the Canon 100mm Macro IS.  [Caveat: The pics aren't as high quality as I want.  Wait till I get my portfolio website in order.]

Before that, a test shot.  Can you see the lens and my superb morning hair?

I walked out of the house while dragging the heavy tripod...what as I thinking.  I took a few flower shots around my neighborhood with the tripod right beside me; unused.

I went back in the house, traded the tripod with a monopod...much better.

I walked around the community park and I keep hearing little critters scurrying.  I finally found the culprit.

I also saw a plane!  A plane boss!

Anyway, a couple more flower shots.

On a side note, turn off the Image Stabilizer (IS) if you are using a tripod or any static support.  IS adds blur in this case.  Trust me.  I wasted few hours shooting a bug (several months ago) using a tripod with IS on.  Here's an example:
